REU: "Engineering Biological Machines." Deadline: February 15, 2011.

Get involved in the "Engineering Biological Machines" REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) this summer! The REU has locations at MIT, Georgia Tech, and the University of Illinois. This 10-week program is full time, offers a generous stipend and travel allowance, as well as all food and housing expenses.

By combining scientific and engineering methods, students will:
-Use stem cells to create biological machines.
-Create 3D cellular structures for new drug discoveries.
-Develop research for environmental health applications.

Who Should Apply?
-Any undergraduate student majoring in biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, mathematics, or related engineering field.
-Students from underrepresented minority groups and women are strongly encouraged to apply.
-US citizenship or permanent residency is required.
